Spring Farm Alpacas are now home after a very successful BAS National for 2016. We are very pleased with how the Show went both for us and for our joint venture with West Wight Alpacas – Suri Stud. We were only able to take suris owing to the entries for the National being closed before we got our act together… but thankfully, Fowberry Alpacas entered a Shogun daughter – Fowberry Bella – so all was not lost on the huacaya front!
In short, the results we had were as follows for our suris:
Obelix – 1st Intermediate fawn suri + Fawn Champion…plus Reserve Champion Fawn fleece
Persephone – 3rd Junior light female
Polyanna – 5th Junior light female
Picasso – 5th Junior white male
Orelia – 3rd Intermediate light fawn plus 1st place Light suri fleece
Suri Stud Aslan – Dark suri herd sire
Suri Stud Amadeus – Light suri herd sire
Dark herd sire has now been awarded three times and been won each year by either Spring Farm or Suri Stud.
And in the huacaya classes
, Bella won her class in junior female brown…Shogun is a very proud stud male!
The show was a great success and a huge amount of work was put in by the organising team and we would like to say thank you to them for such a successful show. We helped in a very small way as Chris took photos for both BAS and Alpaca World so watch out for those.
As far as the showing season is concerned, we will also be going to the Heart of England and South of England shows – be sure to catch us at one if you can – and please support your local show!
