BAS National Show 2025 Spring Farm results

Spring Farm Alpacas was again a bronze sponsor of the BAS National Show in 2025. This year, the BAS National Show was at the Staffordshire Showground. It has been in Telford the last few years. It has been an issue for the organisers as not only was it a new venue, but bluetongue restrictions added new complexity. Note that no alpacas in the UK have tested positive for bluetongue.

So how did we do? Spring Farm entered 7 alpacas for 2025. This is the maximum number we are happy to transport in our purpose adapted van. So, as always, the dilemma is who to take? We finalised the show team in January and decided to take 7 suri alpacas. In that, we took 4 juniors, two intermediates and one adult. Juniors are under 12 months, intermediates are 12 to 24 months and adults 24 to 48 months.

The showing is over three days so there are moments of frantic activity but also the time to socialise and see how our fellow breeders (and their alpacas) are doing. You never know how you will fair until you see the quality of the opposition! There is also the fleece show which is judged prior to the event. We sent 3 fleeces into that element of the show as well.
