Alpaca Husbandry Day

31st May 2017

Alpaca beginner's day

Spring Farm Alpacas are offering an alpaca husbandry day on Wednesday 31st May 2017. We have had alpacas now for 17 years and are renowned throughout the UK and Europe for our husbandry and handling skills. Vicki will be teaching a full day of husbandry and handling using our Spring farm Alpacas to demonstrate how to get the very best out of alpacas. If you are interested in joining us, please contact us as numbers are very limited as we believe in making the day as personal as possible.

An alpaca husbandry day here is intended to cover a number of important items for both prospective alpaca owners and would be very useful if you own alpacas but want to know more about the best and most efficient ways to look after your alpacas. Topics that will be covered both indoors and outdoors (practical) include:

  • Observation
  • Handling and haltering
  • Vaccinations
  • Wormers
  • Feeding and nutrition
  • Vitamins
  • Teeth
  • Feet
  • First aid kit
  • Vets and alpaca diseases
  • Shearing
  • Record Keeping
  • Transporting alpacas
  • BAS/SEAG
  • Poisonous Plants

Vicki will cover these topics and can also cover any other issues you might want to highlight. We have 17 years experience of owning alpacas, showing alpacas, alpaca judging, alpaca handling.

Please contact us for availability and cost – but we try and keep it very reasonable!
