Part of our alpaca beginners day is indoors and part is outdoors where we cover handling and the like. In the event the weather is poor, we can still offer the outdoor section under cover in our purpose built handling facilities. The day runs from 10:30am till about 4:30pm and includes refreshments and a sandwich lunch – please let us know of any specific dietary requirements at the time of booking. We will provide supermarket sourced sandwiches.

The day is aimed at anyone who is thinking about breeding alpacas or just buying alpacas as pets. in addition, we will also cover other topics such as showing alpacas and the “business” of alpacas if required. We have built a business with alpacas with precisely no farming or livestock background. That applies to us and both our families. Just let us know, when you contact us, how you think alpaca ownership might fit into your life.

We have ten spaces on each of these days, so if you are interested in alpaca ownership and attending our beginners day course, you need to reserve a space. If this day doesn’t suit your diary, we will be offering further alpaca beginners days later in the year. Feel free to contact us in the meantime if this date doesn’t suit you and you would like to attend a future date. We can also offer one on one husbandry days here at Spring Farm. These might appeal to existing owners looking to learn how to handle their alpacas better. Our tailored husbandry days only cost £125 plus VAT for either one or two people and offer exceptional value for money. As these are bespoke, please contact us directly to arrange a one on one husbandry day.
