Scottish Alpaca Championships – Judge’s choice suri

Spring Farm Alpacas decided to attend the Scottish Alpaca Championships 2023. This was so we could meet up in person with Molly Gardner and get her opinion of some of our suri alpacas. We took 4 suri alpacas to the Show and, for once, there was no traffic hold ups on the way – only 7.5 hours driving! It might seem a long way to go, but late 2022 we bought 4 suri alpacas from Molly. Her herd – Thistledown Alpacas – is one of the worlds preeminent suri herds and we really wanted her Show assessment of our small team.

So who did we take…

Springfarm Prince Caspian – 1st Place and Champion

Springfarm Baron von Trapp – 1st Place

Springfarm Blizzard – 2nd Place

Springfarm King Arthur – 1st Place and Champion

We were so pleased with the results but even more pleased when Springfarm Prince Caspian went on to take Judge’s Choice Suri of the whole Show!

And just as good, it only took 7.5 hours to drive back too!

At the BAS National 2023 and Scottish Alpaca Championship 2023 we exhibited under the banner Sensational Suris. This is 3 amazing suri alpaca breeders: Spring Farm Alpacas, West Wight Alpacas and Hebbs Alpacas. At the Scottish Alpaca Championships 2023, we three herds had 8 of the 14 colour champions. Springfarm Prince Caspion topped that off by taking Judge’s Choice Suri from Molly Gardner.
